When I first heard of sunlight being helpful to me, I didn't think much of it. I am blonde and fair complected, and living in Arizona all my life, all I knew of the sun was that I got some very painful sunburns when I went swimming.
However, the sun helped me get my body back into wellness.
Our bodies were designed to live on this planet with the great yellow sun. It does some strangely wonderful things for us, IF you know how to do them.

Looking Towards the Sun

Start this in the morning

Sometime in your morning routine, make time to look sun ward. You should do this for at the least, 20 minutes.
Do NOT look directly at the sun , EVER. I mean look in the direction of the sun, getting the full spectrum of light into your eyes. This has been proven to actually change your brain chemistry !!
I could feel my ligaments and tendons wiggling and shaking when I did this.
I will try to include a page on light sensitivity soon.

Sunlight on your Skin

Vitamin D

When you sit in direct sunlight, vitamin D is produced by your skin. This vitamin is need for your body to process calcium correctly. Most people do not get enough vitamin D in their diet these days. (Processing takes out essetial vitamins and nutrients.) That is the reason vitamin D is added to milk.
So, you can start doing this in your daily routine. You can sit in short sleves and shorts in stead of long pants. It will take several hours to get all of your vitamin D from sunlight, that is not what we are after here.
We want to start your body doing it for itself. I do not stay in sunlight more than 30 minutes at a time here in Arizona. You will know for yourself how much you can take. Always start off in small increments and work your way up.

Sunlight on you Skin

Natural Steroids

This is another amazing process. When you sit in the sun, your skin produces steroids !! WOW ! These are similar to what the adrenals glands produce, and make swelling go down. I used to sit in the sun for the warmth to my swollen joints, never realizing I was getting all of these other benefits.
Simply remember to start slowly at first, especially if you haven't been out in the sun for awhile.

Cold Leg Pain
Cold Leg Pain, of which I am familiar, has been described as feeling like your leg muscles are frozen, or like your legs are 'hollow' and cold air is there. It is very painful and surprisingly persistent. It is resistent to heat. I applied heat in all ways until I burned my skin once. I tried hot water, heat packs, and heating pads. None worked. The thing I found that works is this:
Lay on your stomach.
That's it. I was simply amazed when I did this, and the pain slowly ebbed away. It took about 15 minutes the first time. It didn't return until the next morning. I immediately went and laid on my stomch again. Again the pain went away. The reason for this phenomenon is not known. There was only one book I have ever found any type of information on this remedy, and I do not have a copy, nor do I remember the tilte of the book.
The working dynamics of lying on your stomach to stop cold leg pain are not documented to the general public as far as I know. (Please let me know if there is any documentation on this out there.)
Some have speculated, as have I, that when you lay on your stomach, the spine is re-aligned, allowing nerves that were pinched or out of order to be free to conduct the electrical impulses that govern every movement of our body, and provide missing or lessened impulses to the legs. Another idea I have heard is that laying on your stomach lets blood flow to the extremities improve, unobstructing blood vessels that were either blocked or pinched, and restoring life giving oxygen to the cells in the legs and feet.
Either way, this works. I have never heard of anyone faithfully doing this and not getting relief.
